We Take Off-Days... Already.

So. I follow the Greenville Drive baseball games when the team is away via Milb.com game feed. So in other words, if someone were to watch me watch the game, they’d see me staring at a screen and refresh it every minute to see the log update one more play.

Anyway, can I brag for a second here? I am the #1 groupie fan girl of Allstar Adams (aka Mike). Whatever. I started “watching” last night’s game in the middle and had hopes of Mike going in. He’s a reliever so only pitches toward the end of the game, a few innings at a time. He entered the game in the 8th inning and struck out FOUR batters. In one inning. Did they change the rules for him? How it worked out was that he struck a guy out swinging and he got to first anyway.

And his outing before that? He faced four batters and didn’t throw a single “ball.” He’s doin’ A-ok in my book!

I woke up this morning early-ish and heard the rain coming down. I opened an eye because, just for a second, I remembered my windows were up… but they were already up and my carpets were doomed to be wet by now, so I kept sleeping…

What are my obligations for waking up at 7 AM? I can’t clean, my place is new and still spotless (we’ll wait til Thursday when the boy gets back). I have no friends here to meet. No job to go to (yet, I’m workin’ on those two). So, sleep won today. What a dark and stormy (and cold!) day.

I bought a new book I’ve heard a few good reviews of: The Light Between Oceans (M.L. Stedman) and started that. Hey folks- I have a feeling I’ll be reading a lot, so send me some good recommendations!

Other big things? I rode the apartment fitness center’s stationary bike and “Pinned” things on Pinterest. So that was productive… I straightened my hair, so that took an hour out of my day… made some soup- well, heated up some soup from a can…

But hey- Mike’s game got cancelled, so we’re both taking days off. He did go to IHOP and get snacks for the bullpen from WalMart. He’s got a big night ahead of him- NCAA Basketball Final AND The Following… how will he do it?!

I deem it acceptable that I do nothing a) on days like today; and b) when he does nothing too! There are busy days ahead and it's nice to sit back and enjoy the ride you're on!
