Day Out in Greenville

Oh. My. Gosh. I was so lucky to have such a gorgeous Saturday in Greenville!!
There is a trail I’ve heard about (called Swamp Rabbit) that goes about 14 miles in, through, and out of downtown, but I hadn’t found it until yesterday. I parked and followed a group of people (not weird at all…) to the start of the trail and wow- I’d found it.
It’s really cool to me when I find hidden outdoorsy activities tucked inside a city. This place was hoppin’ on this afternoon, which is also a great sign, to me, of what an active and appreciative place this is. There were families everywhere throughout the entire trail, biking or walking together; having picnics, enjoying the views on park benches, playing on the rocks and play sets along the way. Funny, with every picnic, there seemed to be a Paula Deen-looking woman included.
The pictures up there are of this suspended bridge (“Liberty Bridge”) right over some water falls. It’s called “Falls Park” (on the Reedy River). I read about it here (link) and I’m glad I did it after I visited, because it doesn’t seem to be held by more than four total cables… right over the falls…
I had an awesome day by myself in my new city. It’s gorgeous and there seems to be a lot to do on the outdoor, as well as the social side of things.
I slept with the windows open again and woke up freezing!! A nice change to feel the cold coming from FL, except the cold showers I’ve been taking have got to end!
