Well, I made it to Greenville! yay! This is my best omg-let-me-get-out-of-the-car/ frizzy hair/oily skin picture. How does my hair and skin get so bad after doing nothing except sit in an air conditioned car for 10 hours? Gross!

But remember how I said I'd be here by 7 PM? Well, arriving a little after 9 became my reality when I stopped into work to get my last paycheck (tear..), got some good advice from those folks, then took my time with the cuz in Gainesville... then I also acted like a child having to make a potty stop every 70 miles, on average.

But the good news is, I did in fact find gas $0.24 cheaper per gallon than at home. Boom!

So on Day 1, I walked out of the hotel to find that my spare tire (on the car) had a cover over it, along with a note that they had one and were paying it forward to me. Freaked me out at first, but what a nice lil' Greenville welcome!

Mike (the BF) and I visited some apartments, then he had to go to the field for work (it kind of sounds like he's a farmer, which would be cool too). So in the meantime, I made a few more adult-like calls and another apartment visit. I found a place I like- safe and more "woodsy" than the others, which appealed to me. It's on the third floor, but Mike said "Whatever you want!" which is a nice way of saying that he didn't care, and that I should do everything involved with it.

I also drove around town a bit- downtown and the surrounding area is so pretty!! More exploring in the future, for sure! The baseball stadium (Fluor Field) looks really nice too- from the outside. No, even though I was tempted, I did not bring Mike lunch to take a peek!

Also: TGFGPS (Thank Goodness For GPS!) Where am I? When I drive down the street to find whatever it is, I don't even really remember how to make my way back to my hotel. If nothing looked familiar, I'd go the other way. So, I'm thankful.

One GPS search that I actually secretly loved was "GameStop." Okay, I've never played a video game in my life, but Mike is in his comfort zone, geeking out with the store employees, presenting his "gamer card" at checkout... I love it. I act interested, but I only instigate to see more nerdiness from him. All in good fun, of course!

On Day 2, Mike had to be at the field really early (10:45!!) so he left and I went to the apartment place I like and finished the application process! Woo! But geesh, there is so much involved- water/gas/electric/internet/cable/renter's insurance... we also will be renting furniture. Can anyone see the grays in my aging hair yet? Okay, good.

I am so excited to move in and get everything set up. I will definitely post photos when it's all good in our hood!

(And I'll send our address to any family members who might care to have it...)
